The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 40. Over the years, it has grown by leaps & bounds and the current intake is 180, besides an additional 20% under lateral entry scheme.  Currently the department offering B.Tech Program in Computer Science & Engineering and its specializations and M.Tech program in Computer Science & Engineering.

The CSE Department is periodically reviewed and all have received continuous and ongoing accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation(NBA) for The UG course was accredited by NBA in 2008 for 3years, 2013 for 2years, 2019 for 3years  and 2022  for 3years respectively

The Department is headed by MR. E. PURUSHOTHAM (HOD-I/C) He has more than two decades of teaching and research experience and published 13  research articles in reputed National and International journals. There are 20+ faculty members in the Department who possess quality teaching with a passion towards high quality research. They are also knowledgeable, hard-working, earnest and adoptable, well-informed and dosed with a sense of responsibility.

The Department of CSE aims to expertise in computation through strong knowledge of Algorithms, Data Structures, and coding skills in programming languages like Python, C, Java, Deep Learning, Machine Learningand open source technologies, Data centric and secure application development and big data technologies.

The students are encouraged to participate in Hackathons / Projects / Internships to improve their practical knowledge. The department also organizes regularly co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of students such as seminars, workshops, group discussions, etc. The department imparts specialized training to students to pursue their career in core and other IT related streams through various skill development activities.

M.Tech (Computer Science):

Computer science  is a two year full time post-graduate program started in the year 2006 approved by the All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE) . The department offers full time M.Tech program in computer science  with an Intake of 9, Selected through GATE/ AP PGECET.

Department Goals:

• To enable students to understand, formulate, analyse, and solve complex engineering problems in the field of Computer Science And Engineering.
• To impart industry-specific education to students to help them get core jobs in interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary fields.
• To create curiosity and passion in young minds about the fundamental concepts of Computer Science  and their applications in modern Technologies.
• To engage students in learning and self-development activities by hosting national and international seminars.
• To teach students a multidisciplinary approach and help them utilize the knowledge of other departments for the field.
