The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 40. Over the years, it has grown by leaps & bounds and the current intake is 180, besides an additional 20% under lateral entry scheme.  Currently the department offering B.Tech Program in Computer Science & Engineering and its specializations and M.Tech program in Computer Science & Engineering.

B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering was accredited first in 2008 by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi for three years, re-accredited in 2013 and recently in 2019 accredited for three more years.

The Department is headed by Mr. Y. Sreeraman. He has more than two decades of teaching and research experience and published 15 research articles in reputed National and International journals. There are 20+ faculty members in the Department who possess quality teaching with a passion towards high quality research. They are also knowledgeable, hard-working, earnest and adoptable, well-informed and dosed with a sense of responsibility.

The Department of CSE aims to expertise in computation through strong knowledge of Algorithms, Data Structures, and coding skills in programming languages like Python, C, Java and open source technologies, Data centric and secure application development and big data technologies.

The students are encouraged to participate in Hackathons / Projects / Internships to improve their practical knowledge. The department also organizes regularly co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of students such as seminars, workshops, group discussions, etc. The department imparts specialized training to students to pursue their career in core and other IT related streams through various skill development activities.
