Executive Vice Chairman Sri. K. Ranganatham, recognized by his valuable contribution to the field of power sector for a period of around five decades has been appointed as Advisor, Secretary to Government Energy Department by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. As an advisor, he dealt with effective implementation of Power in our state and also other issues related to APTRANSCO, APGENCO, and APDISCOMS.

Sri K. Ranganatham joined as a Junior Electrical Engineer at APSEB in 1963 and appointed as Director (Projects & Distribution) by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1999 for APTRANSCO after introduction of Reforms in Power Sector. Subsequently, he was appointed as the first Managing Director of APSPDCL in 2000 and later made as Chairman and Managing Director for APSPDCL. He also worked as CMD/APNPDCL fromAugust2005.

The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, Government of India during the year 2006 appointed him as a Special Officer, in-charge of monitoring the DISCOMs in the field of energy and placing the DISCOMs at the command, Management, Administration and Control in the state of Orissa. The tribunal has placed on record their appreciation of the valuable services rendered and bringing the DISCOMs on the path towards financial viability. Considering his immense expertise in energy sector, he was appointed as Joint Managing Director of APTRANSCO by the Government of AP in February, 2010 for a period of three years. He volunteered his services during restoration of normalcy in power sector during recent Hudhud cyclone in Vizag & Vizianagaram.

Sri K. Ranganatham, was conferred with the Award of "Leading Energy Personality -2012" for his immense contribution to the energy sector. He was also the recipient of "Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Award" for the year 1993 conferred by Central Board of Irrigation and Power for his outstanding service in the field of Energy Conservation and Reactive Power Management. He has the honor of being selected as Best CEO for the year 2004-05 amongst Distribution Companies of 80 countries by the Association for Electricity Supply Industries of East Asia and Western Pacific (AESEAP).
